An enjoyable nostalgic cover with Rick’s acoustic guitar, Lydia’s violin melody and their vocal harmonies. Because of the song’s lyrics, which many interpret as nostalgic and reflective of their time in high school, it has become a staple song at senior proms. The song was also featured in the second to last episode of “Seinfeld”. Billie Joe Armstrong wrote “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)“ in 1993 about his girlfriend named Amanda who had moved to Ecuador, naming the song “Good Riddance“ to show his disappointment of her leaving. Producer Rob Cavallo has been credited with suggesting the addition of the violin melody to the original song, which was arranged by David Campbell and played by Conan McCallum. #cover #folk
