King Charles affection for animals and his love of nature has been a hallmark of his time as a member of the Royal family. From growing up surrounded by Queen Elizabeth II's corgis, to spending his childhood summer's in Balmoral with his sister Princess Anne playing with their ponies William and Greensleeves, the King has never shied away from an animal encounter or two. His love of horses naturally led him towards becoming a highly regarded polo player in this younger years, even if it did result in him famously injuring himself. The King's affection for animals is shared by his wife, Queen Camilla, who has joined him around the world visiting animals in places such as, Bordeaux, Cairo and the Galápagos Islands. King Charles and Queen Camilla are often at their happiest when surrounded by animals in their natural habitat. Today, the King and Queen now own two Jack Russell Terriers called Beth and Bluebell.
