'Athens Protesters Hurl Petrol Bombs as Anti-Police Brutality March Turns Violent' One officer was severely injured when a mob pulled him from his motorbike and beat him with clubs during a march to protest police brutality in Athens. Splinter groups hurled petrol bombs, molotov cocktails, and stones at police as they broke away from the main march. The initial demonstration was attended by 5,000 people in the Nea Smyrni district after an incident there on Sunday saw a man beaten by police during an arrest. Police say they were attacked by a group of people protesting fines for breaching lockdown. In an address to the nation on Tuesday night, Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis appealed for calm, telling young people that “blind rage leads nowhere“. An investigation has been ordered into Sunday's incident. #Athens #Greece #Police Subscribe here: Twitter: Facebook: If you wish to purchase any of our clips for commercial
