Full title reads: “France. The Battle of Flowers - marks the climax of Riviera Season at Nice ... “ Nice, France. Flower decorated float passes between two crowded stands. The people on the float throw flowers at the spectators, who in turn throw flowers back. Decorated float travels away from the camera. Another float passes by. Two women standing on a flowery float throw flowers. It is hard to tell what the floats are meant to depict. Women dressed as sailors throw flowers as their float passes by. Low angle shot of people standing on balcony. The front of the building is decorated with long garlands of flowers. A car, almost covered in flowers, drives past. A horse drawn float passes by the grandstand. More floats parade. A horse drawn carriage, covered with flowers, it looks almost like a royal carriage. Intertitle reads: “ .. if it wasn't quite so sunny at Manchester - it was the real spirit of Carnival that ushered in Lent at Students' Annual Shrovetide Rag.“ Manchester, Lancashire.
