Historical Background Originally built in the year 975 during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, Leifeng Pagoda was a majestic structure with five stories. However, it suffered multiple reconstructions and, unfortunately, collapsed in 1924. The current pagoda is a modern reconstruction completed in 2002, incorporating some of the original bricks and relics recovered from the ruins. Legend of the White Snake Leifeng Pagoda is associated with the famous Chinese legend of Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian, commonly known as the Legend of the White Snake.
