We had a Roommette on Amtrak's Cardinal from Chicago to Kentucky. Here's a video tour of the different accommodations. The Accessible Bedroom will accommodate someone in a wheelchair or scooter and has a large accessible bathroom with shower that I didn't get in the video. The Bedrooms sleep two adults and have an en suite toilet and shower. They will connect and sleep up to four adults, but they are a lot more expensive than the cozy roommettes. Roommettes are small compartments that will sleep up to two adults. They have a toilet and sink en suite, plus there is a shared shower in the car for roommette passengers to share. I didn't get that on video, either, but it was very roomy and nicely appointed. Sleeper car passengers get meals included with their accommodations, and the price for sleeper is for the entire compartment regardless of how many passenger. So your coach base fare for 1 or 2 passengers is added to the flat fee for the sleeper compartment.
