Today we are exploring Moscow, Russia and visiting the Tsaritsyno Palace and Pushkin Fine Arts Museum We started off with a nice breakfast and took the metro from the center of Moscow towards the south of the city. You can decide if you want to enter the Tsaritsyno Reserve and Museum from the Tsaritsyno Metro Station in the north or the Orekhovo station from the south. We chose the second station because we wanted to walk through the forest part of the park towards the palace. It was cool to see so many trees and animals in a big city like Moscow. The palace has an interesting history, the land was purchased by Catherine the Great, but she never got to live in the palace we see today. She built one palace first, but she didn’t like how it turned out, and demolished it. The second palace took longer to build, and she passed before it was finished, so construction was abandoned for over 200 years.
