Hello! :D Similar to the Sterling brand, the Merkur marque of the mid-1980s was an attempt by Ford to introduce European-sized models into the United States in order to directly combat the horde of BMWs, Audis, Hondas and Mercedes’ filling up the market, but, like Sterling, would prove to be a massive failure for the company.
