This is a simple DYI forge, made from a coffee can and homemade refractory with materials that can be found at any hardware stores. This has no problems heating up metal to red hot, but tried forge welding with it, it doesn’t quite have enough heat, maybe by making the chamber smaller that might help. Not sure how well it will hold up over the long term but the price was right. The burner is a Bernzomatic TS8000 torch. Refractory is made from 1 part Plaster of Paris, 1 Part Sand, 1 Part Water.
