Annweiler am Trifels is a town and, in terms of population, the third largest municipality in the Südliche Weinstraße district of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is also the administrative seat of the Verbandsgemeinde of the same name. Annweiler is a state-recognized climatic health resort and designated as a medium-sized center according to state planning.
