Adam Walker swam the English Channel with a conventional flat stroke technique back in 2008. He suffered a ruptured bicep tendon because of this and was advised by his surgeon not to swim again. Instead of giving up, Adam re-invented the way he swam. Having researched other swim techniques he liked the idea of rotation, but because of his shoulder injury he had to adapt this further. This became the Ocean Walker technique. Powered by the smaller and longer lasting core muscles, with no driving or thrusting
