let's be real, we've all tried the hard mix blending mode by accident at one point and thought “why would anyone ever need this“... BUT NOW let's explore ACTUAL use cases for the ugly duckling blending mode called Hard Mix! We'll start by going over some color theory and talking about how colors are made up of Red, Green, and Blue values from 0-255. Then once we're all on the same page we'll talk about how the Hard Mix mode actually works to understand why it gives us such ugly results. Once we UNDERSTAND the blending mode we can actually find some really powerful uses for it. The first of the use cases I'll go over is making really cool dissolve transitions using Turbulent Noise. They're really versatile because there are so many options you can change to fine-tune and customize every aspect of the dissolve! After that we'll go over how you can use it to create a half-tone comic book style that again, is super customizable and powerful -- theres so much you can do with this blending mode once you understand how it works so by all means play around with it and share what cool uses you've come up with in the comments to help everyone else (and me) out! my microphone (affiliate link) socials timestamps 0:00 - intro tags after effects tutorial, adobe after effects tutorial, after effects tutorials, adobe after effects, after effects tutorial beginner, after effects hard mix, hard mix, after effects blending modes, after effects comic book effect, comic book, comic effect, halftone, halftone effect, halftone pattern, photoshop halftone tutorial, halftone after effects, dissolve effect after effects, text dissolve after effects
