Big City & The D Timelapse

This Video from Richard Bentley. New York: The Big City, The Big Apple, The City that Never Sleeps. Detroit: The Motor City, America’s Comeback City, The D. What’s in a name? Our hopes, our dreams, our aspirations? I spent some time in both cities again at the end of 2014, whilst making my documentary ’Metropolis: A Timelapse Perspective’. Some of these shots made it to the edit, some did not... We all have a personal relationship with where we are right now... today, last year, a decade ago. Some things stick. For me it was Michigan Central Train Station, and the fist of Joe Louis in Detroit. In New York, Grand Central Train Station with the MetLife building sitting on top of it, and of course, the notoriously hard to access for timelapse, The Empire Stare and now 1WTC by Daniel Libeskind who features in my documentary.
