* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Las Vegas, Nevada — The Nevada Highway Patrol released body-worn and dashcam video from an officer-involved shooting at Red Rock Canyon last week. According to NHP, on Nov. 11. shortly before 6 a.m they received a call from the mother of the suspect 29-year-old Erik Legried. She told police her son was going to shoot himself or drive head-on into upcoming traffic to kill himself in his black 2021 Toyota Tacoma. Legried drove through a campsite at Red Rock National Conservation Area before leading law enforcement into the visitors center parking lot. Troopers blocked him in, but he rammed their cars to get away. Eventually, another officer rammed his truck from the side. Airbags than deploy, and Legried starts driving away. Officers then start shooting, and the truck stops a few seconds later. NHP says troopers couldn't see into the truck due to the deployed airbags and couldn't tell if he had a weapon. Two trooper
