In 2020 journalist Caleb Maupin released a book about Kamala Harris consisting of three essays, using Harris’s career as a commentary on American politics. With Harris becoming the Democratic presidential nominee in 2024, Maupin sought to bring attention to his work only to discover that Amazon had disappeared his book from their site entirely. Even after addressing concerns the major bookseller raised about the book’s cover, Amazon continues to refuse to sell the book on its site. Jimmy talks to Maupin about his infuriating back-and-forth with Amazon and why the book is not a straightforward “hit piece” on Kamala Harris.
