Lionel Ohayon and Renée Joosten will share their experiences designing the interior lighting of Sphere Las Vegas from concept phase through final completion. The interior scope included over 300,000 sq. ft of interior spaces such as the Atrium, food and beverage locations, expo spaces, 23 premium hospitality suites and more. Its lighting design is a dynamic and immersive experience that transcends traditional notions of entertainment spaces. The lighting scheme transforms the venue into a living, breathing entity, where light becomes an integral performer in the unfolding narrative of the Sphere experience. The long, curvilinear spaces within Sphere are metered by repetition, creating a rhythmic cadence that enhances the overall design. The use of color lights versus white lighting serves as a storytelling tool, gradually building up the narrative as visitors progress towards the performance bowl. These elements are not static; instead, they evolve and adapt, ensuring that each visit to Sphere is a unique and enchanting experience.
