A song of an evacuee is an old Finnish song, that tells about a wartime evacuation trop from the point of view of a child. Composer V. Lavi wrote the song based on a true story of his accompanist War leaves its mark on children fleeing the horror of the war. This was the case in Finland, and this is the case in Ukraine today. Today we celebrate Finland's Independence Day on December 6. Evacuee’s song comes to people's minds as a song to remember during this important day. The song is touching and many Finns still find it difficult to hold back their tears because of the emotional memory associated with the song. Ukraine is fighting its own winter war against an unfair opponent, just like Finland more than 80 years ago.
