A blind man named Wallace “Wally“ Karew (Richard Pryor) and a deaf man named David “Dave“ Lyons (Gene Wilder) meet when Wally applies for a job in Dave’s New York City concession shop. After a brief period of confusion and antagonism, Wally and Dave become close friends.
