Angela Davis in America 1976: What America does to this young black woman, communist, professor of philosophy, kicking her out of the University of California, charging her with murder and kidnapping, imprisoning her and making her risk the death penalty, by assassinating Georges Jackson, the man she loved, one of Soledad’s brothers. Moved by her youth, her beauty, her intelligence, her sensitivity and the fight she waged for all blacks, Americans of good will and democrats from many countries intervened in her favor in the 1970s. Finally recognized as innocent and freed , Angela Davis was to resume her fight and it was this that Jean Daniel Simon filmed during the 1976 presidential election campaign in the United States. A film that is the portrait of an activist but also that of another America, the one that is not shown. Fleeta Domingo, one of Soledad’s brothers, brings here, and for the first time, his testimony.
