Ukraine said that a Russian drone attack overnight on Sept. 15 was targeting warplanes involved in strikes this week on Russian-occupied Crimea. Kyiv said the drones were targeting Khmelnytskyi region which is home to the Starokostiantyniv air base. Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia fired 17 “kamikaze“ drones but all were downed by Kyiv’s air defence systems. Drones’ debris damaged 12 homes and shattered windows in a school, but no one was hurt, regional official Serhiy Tiurin said. Ukraine said it conducted a missile strike on a shipyard in Crimea's port of Sevastopol early on Sept. 13.
