You can travel around Russia forever! And if suddenly, you are passing Adygea by car, then be sure to visit Maykop! Not so, I strongly recommend to see Maykop. The city was founded in 1857 and its name means the valley of apple trees. The population is a little less than 150 thousand people, but Maykop is very spacious and interesting. You cannot fly from Moscow to Maykop and you cannot come by train, the nearest airport is in Krasnodar. Yes, the city will greet you with Soviet panels, but mostly there will be private houses made of old brick and wood. It looks very nice, and every house is unique. In Maykop, most of the residents are Russians, then the Circassians themselves, and only then all the rest. The city has parks and squares, museums, just interesting ethnic places and events. But a couple of days will be enough for Maikop itself. So if you decide to come here for a week, then immediately see the surrounding excursions, as there are many places, but not everything can be reached
