Andy Quin plays an improvised organ fantasy based upon Chopin's Prelude in C minor (Op. 28 no. 20). I know I have taken serious liberties with the tune, purists please forgive me! Long before virtual Pipe organs, VTPO's, Hauptwerk, Yamaha Tyros and Cameron Carpenter with his Marshall & Ogletree International Touring Organ had become all the vogue, I had designed and built my own 'Hybrid' electronic/digital pipe organ. Based around the humble Yamaha HX5 console with 2, 49- note keyboards and 13-note pedalboard, it did however boast state-of-the-art sampling hardware and many unique samples I had recorded myself on a number of different pipe/electronic organs. It had, dare I say it, more 'character' and warmth in the sound than many digital VPO's and was astoundingly versatile musically.
