The ‘Tulip Mania’ of Holland in the seventeenth century, where the value of tulip bulbs became insanely inflated, only for the market to utterly crash overnight; and the legendary ‘South Sea Bubble’ in the eighteenth century, which saw the first true crisis on the London exchange, ending in disaster for all concerned.
