Moldovan elections: presidential polling, EU referendum plagued by numerous violations - reports Local media outlet Nokta reports that police have recorded 19 violations related to illegal campaigning and filming of ballots, with non-governmental organization Promo-Lex recording 173 election violations in Romania. Online reports indicate that in the village of Plop, police are asking voters who they will vote for, with those against incumbent leader Maia Sandu allegedly not allowed into polling stations. Voters abroad have also seen their electoral rights squeezed; in Italy’s Bologna, lights were turned off at one of the polling stations, while at another, an observer was not allowed inside, despite having a permit.
