Reviews of weather events, natural disasters, astronomical phenomena and wildlife around the world A powerful magnetic storm is currently occurring on Earth. The storm began 3 days ago and at its peak reached the G3 level, which is considered high. The storm began because a cloud of plasma from a solar ejection came to Earth, causing the planet to be immersed in solar matter. The ejection itself was weak (the speed of the solar wind in it was only about 20-30% higher than normal). But the planet was hit by a local dense formation inside the cloud (a bundle of a strong magnetic field or the remains of a solar prominence thrown into space along with the cloud). As a result, polar lights were observed all over the Earth at polar and even, for several hours, at temperate latitudes. At the moment, the storm has significantly weakened to the G1 level, but has not yet completely stopped. Meanwhile, a huge spot on the Sun, frightening in its size, is turning towards the Earth. It is this spot that has an X-class flare that occurred the day before, which, fortunately, was directed away from our planet. This spot is turning towards the Earth, where it will be approximately on Friday-Saturday of this week. Scientists are monitoring and waiting for developments. According to forecasts of specialists in the study of the Sun, magnetic storms and polar lights are expected from August 9 to 12. Magnetic storms are also expected from August 28 to 29, but these forecasts are preliminary and need to be clarified. #Aurora #AuroraBorealis #MagneticStorm
