We then flashback to 1918 where we see film of General Pershing presenting medal to the then Brigadier Douglas MacArthur on the battlefields of France. Various shots in 1930 show MacArthur being sworn in as Chief of Staff. General MacArthur taking salute and parade of his army in 1930s. In France in 1931 he watches manoeuvres and then has the Commander of the Legion of Honour bestowed on him. MacArthur in Germany in 1931 inspecting German unit. In 1933 makes a brief speech to the West Point Cadets (natural sound, but slightly out of synch - will need adjusting). C/U of MacArthur receiving another honour in America.
