Lead singer Precious Wilson left Eruption on the height of their success in 1979 after two mega-hits with I Can't Stand The Rain and One Way Ticket. Producer Frank Farian announced he would launch her solo career and turn her into a superstar. Her first solo single was Hold On I'm Coming, released in the summer of 1979, but despite performances on several big TV shows and inclusion on Boney M.'s #1 album Oceans Of Fantasy, the single was not as successful as the team had hoped. By October 1980 Precious' debut album On The Race Track was released, a mixture of soul, R&B, disco and reggae, the highpoints arguably being the gospel ballad Stay By My Side with fine backing vocals by the (as of yet unnamed) La Mama trio of Patricia Shockley, Cathy Bartney and Madeleine Davis.
