Video showing the internals of the most powerful jet engine ever to be hung on the wings off a plane, the mighty GE90-115B Exclusive on the 777-300ER and an option on the 777-200LR, this bad boy is the most powerful, one of the most reliable and one of most efficient jet engines out there. Having recently been certified for ETOPS 330, this effectively opens up nearly the entire earth for the 777. This display resides at the future of flight museum in Everett, adjacent to the Boeing factory. no doubt the most striking feature is the massive fan, which is almost the width of a 737's fuselage! The video really does not show the size of this thing, i wouldn't be able to touch the cone even if i was stretching. Next you see the real amazing parts, which turn air into 115300lbs of thrust, or almost 300000hp per 777-300ER! Also in the background is the tail of a 747, again, while these things look pretty big on the plane, they are absolutely massive when your standing next to it! Even though this engine is rated a 115300 during testing it was taken upto a massive 127900lbs of thrust. This engine was capable of power and sustaining a 747 inflight by itself.
