The emergence of flat track racing basically coincides with motorcycles assuming their traditional shape back in 1920s. Today this bike competition on the dirt circuit, where riders spend more time sliding rather than having traction, no longer possesses its former popularity. However, flat tracker styled models are still attracting the attention of custom builders and mass market manufacturers who want to monetize on the design.
