It is with great regret that we must report the passing of John Miles. He passed away on December 5, at the age of 72. John scored a world hit with 'Music was my first love' in 1976, and this song has become the anthem of 'Night of the Proms', where John was a guest already during the first edition in 1985. From 1989, John was a regular guest at all NotP shows, except when on tour with Tina Turner, where he alternated between musical director and lead guitarist. Never one to shy away from a musical challenge, John has brought us unforgettable musical moments, including duets with Andrea Bocelli (1995), Michael McDonald (2002), Sharon den Adel (2009), Anastacia (2012), Zucchero (1999), Emily Bear (2017), Lara Fabian (2007), Milow (2018) and Ronan Keating (2016). In addition, John covered unforgettable hits by Queen, Led Zeppelin, ELO, Miley Cyrus, Avicii and Van Halen. John passed away after a short illness, surrounded by his family
