“Take the 'A' Train“ is a jazz standard by Billy Strayhorn that was the signature tune of the Duke Ellington orchestra. It is arguably the most famous of the many compositions to emerge from the collaboration of Ellington and Strayhorn. It was first recorded on January 15, 1941 as a standard transcription for a radio broadcast. The “A“ Train itself ran up to Harlem in New York City, and this old Hammond Organ of mine is on the same track to Tune Town, and downtown where the action is. “Life is Good“ there, too, so get on stop, Hipsville….. Wednesday rules, when you're on the right track to a “Hammondization“ revelation. 3/24/2021. 🎹😎🌴
