Susan Marshall, a New Zealander living in Canberra, is featured on Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) news story on the Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race. Note: this news story features video from our channel of Susn finishing the race: Susan Marshall from Australia came in fifth in the 26th Annual 3100 Mile Race, finishing the 5649 laps in under 51 days. Her time was 50 days, 16 hours, 23 minutes and 53 seconds. This was her first attempt at the 3100; the furthest she ever went prior was 10 days. She also won two 6 day races, giving her the confidence that she could attempt the 3100. In order to meet their goal of 3100 miles (4989km) in 52 days, the runners must log an average of 59.6 miles (95.9 km) per day. The runners begin at 6 a.m. and run for extended periods throughout the day, taking breaks as needed. If they want to, they can continue as late as 12 midnight when the course closes for the night.
