Professor Jolyon Mitchell takes a look at the relationship between art and warfare, using his experience as a BBC journalist as inspiration. In this thought provoking talk he explores how the perspective with which we view something can change its very nature. Jolyon is Professor of Communication, Arts and Religion at Edinburgh University. His work has focused on peace building, violence and arts in warfare. Before his post in the university he was a journalist for the BBC world service. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
