New Cross Stadium, London. Funny story about Afghan Hounds being trained to race like greyhounds - cute. Glamorous dog breeder Jean Briggs is seen grooming an Afghan along with some of her employees grooming other dogs. C/Us of the dogs looking a bit dopey. The Greyhound Association has given Mrs Briggs permission to try out her dogs at the New Cross Stadium. The kennel maids and Mrs Briggs run along with the dogs on leads and try to get them to jump hurdles - variable results. The dogs are led up to the traps and put in. The race starts and a couple of them really go for it - they are pretty fast. They hurtle after the fake rabbit around the greyhound racing track and chew it at the end. There is a really funny dog who doesn't want to play and he trots along slowly looking sheepish. I want that one! There are newspaper clippings about Jean and her dogs on file.
