Rybka in Russian is a cute little fish and this is of course where I come from. A famous Russian Fairy Tale written by Pushkin: SUMMARY: An old man and his wife have been living in poverty for years. They have a small hut, and every day the oldman goes out to fish. One day, he throws in his net and pulls out a magic golden fish. The fish pleads for its life, promising to grant any wish in return. The old man is so scared the fish can speak, he says he wants nothing and lets the fish go. When he tells his wife the story, she gets very angry and tells him to go back and ask the fish for a new trough, as theirs is broken, and the fish happily grants this small request. The next day, the wife asks for a new house, and the fish grants this also. Then the wife asks for a palace, to become a noble lady, to become the ruler of her province, to become the tsarina, and finally, to become the Ruler of the Sea and the Mistress of the golden fish proper. As the oldman goes to ask for each item, the sea becomes more and more stormy. And when it comes to the wish to be made the Ruler of the Sea, the fish simply returns the whole story to where it started. And there they sit in the old hut with the broken trough again... Serves her right. Don't you think?
