Album: The Set Up Kings | Official Website: | Download Album: Lyrics: West coast lady with your spiral staircase. West coast lady with your phoney fireplace. I stayed up with you all night till the night time turned back into day. West coast lady with your Beaujolais in hand. West coast lady with your bikini sun tan. I stayed too long in your water now I'm crawling back up on dry land. Oh, baby, I remember sitting down with you there in the sand. Just like that stuff, you slipped through my hands. I told you once or twice, maybe three times or more. You never did listen, you walked out the door. West coast lady, I will never understand. West coast lady, why you let go of my hand. Only time will tell if you're gonna find yourself another man. Oh, baby, I remember sitting down with you there in the sand. Just like that stuff, you slipped through my hands. I told you once or twice, maybe three times or four. You never did listen, you walked out the door. West coast lady, honey, I will never understand. West coast lady, why you let go of my hand. Only time will tell if you'll find yourself another man. West coast lady with your spiral staircase. West west coast lady with your phoney fireplace. I stayed up with you all night till the night time turned back into day. Thanks to @fivetimesyo for the lyrics Tony DeFelice grew up in upstate New York where he learned piano and guitar at an early age. He continued playing guitar through out high school in local cover bands, including the popular local band Second Look. He then headed out to California and played with numerous original rock and roots music bands including Life’s Comedy and King For a Day, playing clubs throughout Los Angeles and Orange County CA. After a long hiatus he started performing again in 2013 in his current home town of New Orleans, LA. He spent 3.5 years in the James Jordan Beautiful Band – 4 piece horn section, James Jordan on acoustic upright piano and Tony on guitar – playing late 50’s and early 60’s New Orleans R&B ala Dave Bartholomew and Champion Jack Dupree… It was Tony’s time in California where he was exposed to the powerful harmonica fronted blues bands, playing big band style tunes with amped up harmonicas blazing the way. Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers, William Clarke, Johnny Dyer, James Harmon and many others lit a fire in him with the upbeat jump swing beats and blues guitar lines that dip ever so slightly into bebop and elsewhere. In November of 2016, Tony put together The Set Up Kings. It was his opportunity to put together the different styles of music that he loved, and do it with a group of top notch musicians. Life events outside of music caused Tony to end The Set Up Kings in June of 2022, and take a hiatus from the music scene. In November of 2022, Tony got the opportunity to play guitar in the Smoky Greenwell Band, based out of New Orleans. “I got word of the opportunity while I was in Denver on a much needed change of scenery trip… with the encouragement of several existing members I decided to go for it. I ended the Denver trip early, and spent the entire drive home learning new material, to gig for the first time with this band just days after being asked. It was a challenge that I needed personally at the time, and we’ve been going strong ever since.” Some of the artists Tony has performed with include Walter Wolfman Washington, Smoky Greenwell, Andy J Forest, Johnny Mastro, Al Chesis, Cheryl Arena, Bruce Sunpie Barnes, Robert Mache, Bob “Pacemaker” Newham, Stan Ruffo, Ronnie Gomez, Jeremy Kelley, and others. His musical journey has only just begun… 🎧 Don’s Tunes is about the music. It’s about the sound. It’s about the real thing.
