The “Barbie“ movie might be all the craze right now, but Cheryl Burnett’s love of Barbie goes way back. For almost 30 years, she’s been creating a Barbie dream collection in her Atascocita home. “I had one growing up but she got lost somehow,“ said Burnett. “I rediscovered her back in 1995 in a magazine ad and that was Rapunzel Barbie that I went to my local Toys 'R Us store and found. I also bought a Maria from the Sound of Music and a Peppermint Princess Barbie and that’s what started my collection.“ Since then, Burnett has amassed a collection of around 2,400 Barbie dolls. Most are boxed and kept in several rooms throughout her home, although some are on display.
