We've animated the capsule of the knee, along with muscles that control the tension of the capsule – articularis genus and semimembranosus muscle. This has been the most challenging set of anatomical structures in the project so far, and it took us two months to bring it to life. With this, we conclude the topic of the knee joint. We hope you like the result! The animation illustrates the knee joint capsule, featuring embedded ligaments such as the oblique popliteal, arcuate, and anterolateral ligaments. The articularis genus muscle is responsible for managing capsule tension during knee extension, while the semimembranosus muscle tightens the capsule during knee flexion. The final muscle presented is the popliteus, the only one that pierces the capsule and has an intracapsular insertion.
