Northern Fleet Arctic grouping has sailed off to another mission to the Arctic Ocean. The event has been held annually for 13 years now. The mission will be carried out under the flag of Deputy Commander of the Northern Fleet Vice Admiral Oleg Golubev. In the morning, ships involved in the Arctic mission sailed off the Northern Fleet's homeport, Severomorsk, supported by mine-sweeping group of the Kola Flotilla of Diverse Forces through the Kola Bay and formed a movement order in the Barents Sea. Afterwards, a detachment of ships and support vessels took a course to the north. The detachment includes the large anti-submarine ship Vice Admiral Kulakov, from which the forces are controlled, the large landing ship Aleksandr Otrakovsky, the rescue tugboat Altay, and the tanker Sergei Osipov. During this mission, the Northern Fleet ships will traditionally conduct a series of exercises to ensure the safety of maritime traffic and other maritime economic activities of the Russian Federation
