The newest (and cutest) babies have arrived at the Wellington Zoo – baby meerkats. They are soft and furry and don’t sit still for too long. They’re born with their ears and eyes shut, no bigger than a tiny matchbox toy car. Zookeper Danielle Rae explains that at a few days old, they need their privacy and can’t come out of their burrows just yet, but they will be ready at four weeks old.
