A look at the many pavilions in the Empire Exhibition in Glasgow. Titles read: “THE EMPIRE COMES TO TOWN!“ Glasgow, Scotland. At the Empire Exhibition in Bellahouston Park we see several shots of pavilions representing different parts of the British Empire, including Canada, Ireland, Australasia, and South Africa. The British Government Pavilion is very large and imposing, with two huge stone lions outside. Brief shot of the Atlantic Restaurant, then we see the Palace of Engineering - the largest building on the site. Inside, people walk around looking at interesting exhibits, such as a clock face made from a million matches and a man made out of teapots and colanders! There is also a huge bread-making and wrapping machine, an ultraviolet ray for cooking the dough. Crowds of people wander around a Highland Village in the exhibition, where all the cottages are modelled on existing ones in the real Highlands. A babbling river runs through the area.
