Members of Sydneys Russian diaspora appealed to the leadership of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad with a request to urgently return the ancient icon to the Kursk land to support the SMO and repel the Ukrainian Nazi offensive against Kursk. Unfortunately, the leadership of the ROCOR, based in New York, USA, refuses to openly support Russia in the context of the SMO. Since February 2022, the icon has never visited Russia.
