May 17, 1976... RAINBOW releases their 2nd studio album RISING. Three new members, replacing the debut album players from ELF, kicked RAINBOW into a new level of musical awesomeness. The band was now composed of Ronnie James Dio on vocals, Ritchie Blackmore on guitar, Jimmy Bain on bass, Tony Carey on keyboards and Cozy Powell on drums. The album artwork was painted by Ken Kelly who also painted the DESTROYER and LOVE GUN album covers for KISS. STARGAZER was selected as the lone single from the album. Sadly, three of the five members of RAINBOW are no longer living. Cozy passed away in 1998, Ronnie in 2010 and Jimmy in 2016 🤘 Thanks for supporting the channel.
