New Romney, Kent. M/S of a model steam train (a third of life-size) of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway standing on a track; a name plate on the side of the train reads 'Winston Churchill'. As the train starts to move off we see the driver, squashed into the cab, showing how small the train is. Various shots show trains on 'The World's Smallest Railway' being polished and driven along the tracks; passengers look rather cramped in the little carriages; they get on and off the train at a scaled down platform. Several shots of the train steaming along through the countryside and past a caravan site; children look out of the carriages as they zip by. Commentator tells us that “during the war, the German air force thought it was important enough to send their bombers on a raid after raid to put it out of action, but their total toll was one engine derailed“.
