Rockets Launched into the Northern Lights in 4K Ultra HD

On January 26th just after midnight the University of Alaska, Fairbanks launched 4 sounding rockets to study the interaction of solar winds and Earth’s atmosphere. Using different gasses they were able to make a glowing cloud of sorts that would allow them to study this interaction with imagery. Learn more here. В январе прошлого года на Аляске в рамках эксперимента M-TeX (Mesosphere-Lower Thermosphere Turbulence Experiment) производились пуски небольших ракет для изучения процессов в атмосфере, связанных с полярными сияниями, радиационными поясами и взаимодействию частиц солнечного ветра с молекулами оксида азота и озона, а также изучению процессов переноса и турбулентностей в мезосфере. Эти пуски совпали с северными сияниями, чем и воспользовались многие фотографы.
