Guitar Boogie (Smith) by Arthur “Guitar Boogie” Smith and His Cracker-Jacks, featuring Arthur Smith (guitar), Don Reno (rhythm guitar), and Roy Lear (bass) This track was actually recorded back in 1945 and first released on the Super Disc label with the artist shown as “The Rambler Trio, featuring Arthur Smith - guitar.” When MGM purchased the master in 1948, it was reissued as shown here in the label scan and reached a top-10 ranking on Billboard’s Country Juke Box chart. The piece was updated as “Guitar Boogie Shuffle” in 1953 by both The Esquire Boys and The Super-Sonics, and again in 1959 by The Virtues (U.S.) and Bert Weedon (UK).
