The second in a new series on the use of the Partisan (Partigiana), this is from the seminal ‘Opera Nova’ of Achille Marozzo (1536). Performed with a synthetic blade due to public access, this is the 2nd action. -———————————————————————————- As many of you are probably aware, my moniker of ‘Wandering Swordsman’ used in these videos is based on the old European concept of a non guild affiliated instructor in swordsmanship being little better than a vagabond. This is particularly apt due to my lifestyle choice of living on a boat and travelling around the south of England, putting up posters and offering classes wherever I happen to stop. -———————————————————————————- Initiating action a.) picking up from where the last action left off, keeping your arms straight, and without shifting your grip, lower the point of your weapon, as you draw up your right leg. b.) Keeping the point low, advance on your opponent with your left foot forward, pressing your opponent to attack. c.)
