No title. High angle shot of a factory floor. Various shots of men at work on large machines. Intertitle reads: “This Universal machine is the largest in the world, (1,200 tons) and can break at a pull or pressure of over 1,200 tons!“ L/S and M/S of man operating this machine. Men lower a metal pole and then wind a lever which moves the machine along to surround the pole. C/U of the pole passing through the machine. “The steel bar to be tested in this hydraulic monster is 5 inches in diameter.“ Various shots of the machine in operation. “A remorseless pull of nearly 600 tons pulled the steel in two - !“ C/U of a gauge used to show the pull factor. L/S of the pole being pulled - it suddenly snaps. Men climb into the machine to inspect the damage. C/U of a man in a suit looking at the end of the pole. “When it's finished, they open the gun-like breech - without this protection, the “grips“ would fly off when the specimen broke.“ M/S of man opening part of the machine and removing parts
