#mybookshelfisopen Over the last several weeks I, like many other Americans, have been pondering ideas of how to help with the current COVID-19 situation. I’ve brainstormed what I might have to offer while still doing my part to flatten the curve while practicing social distancing. I asked myself, “What do I have?” and “What do I know?”. It became clear last weekend how I might help. I taught elementary school in Maryland for about 6 years before “retiring” to become a stay at home Mom. My grandmother (Mimi) was an English teacher, and my Mom a Home Economics teacher, so teaching is in my blood. I have always loved children’s books and, over the years, have accumulated quite a collection. So, to answer my own question, “What do I have?”, well, I have books, lots of books. And “What do I know?”, well, I know how to read them! Schools are closed; libraries are closed, but #mybookshelfisopen!! Plain and simple, my goal is to create an online library of read aloud books for children
