Banyan - Mahoya

After the incredible reception to our recent release ‘Maundu’, we knew we had to explore another in the afrohouse style. Like ‘Maundu’, this one features a beautiful vocal performance by Kenyan artist, Sofiya Nzau, and although we may not have understood the words that Sofiya was singing, it struck a deep emotional chord within us right away. ‘Mahoya’ is the Kikuyu word for “prayer” and we think this one really captures the depth of Sofiya’s emotion and reverence as she sings her prayer.
